Child Immunisation Information

Child Immunisations

We provide all routine childhood vaccinations as part of the National NHS Programme. Keeping your child up to date with their vaccines is the best way to protect them from serious diseases like measles, meningitis, and polio.

When should my child be vaccinated?
Vaccinations begin at 8 weeks of age. You will usually receive an invitation from the NHS when your child is due for their next dose.

Attending your Appointment
The "Red Book": Please remember to bring your child’s Personal Child Health Record (the Red Book) to every vaccination appointment so we can update their records.

The Appointment: These are usually carried out by our Practice Nurses. They are highly experienced in vaccinating babies and children and will be happy to answer any questions you have.

If your child is unwell: If your child has a fever on the day of their appointment, please call us to reschedule. A minor cough or cold without a fever is usually fine.
